Toucan Abroad and Pre-PT Grind share a common mission – to empower and support pre-physical therapy students on their journey towards a rewarding career. The Service Leadership Scholarship is dedicated to recognizing and supporting pre-physical therapy students who have demonstrated exceptional service leadership qualities and a commitment to making a positive impact on their communities and the betterment of others.

This scholarship is open to pre-PT students who are:

  • Enthusiastic about service leadership

  • Committed to making a positive impact

  • Planning to join a Toucan Abroad Summer Program in 2025

How to Apply

To apply for the Service Leadership Scholarship, follow these simple steps:

  • Complete the Application for a 2025 Summer Program

  • Write an essay (500-800 words) on your experiences in service leadership, highlighting your contributions and their impact.

    Essay Prompt:

    In your essay (500-800 words), reflect on your experiences in service leadership. Share specific examples of how you have made a positive impact in your community or academic environment through acts of service, leadership roles, or initiatives you have undertaken. Discuss the lessons learned and how your commitment to service aligns with your journey as a pre-physical therapy student.

  • Submit your essay in Doc or PDF form to info@toucanabroad.com with the subject line: "Service Leadership Scholarship Application - Your Name."

Essay Deadline: December 1st

Selection Process:

  • Toucan Abroad and Pre-PT Grind will review all eligible scholarship applications.

  • Applications will be evaluated based on the quality and depth of the service leadership essay.

  • The scholarship recipient will be selected based on the essay's content and demonstration of outstanding service leadership.

Winner Announcement: The scholarship recipient will be announced shortly after the deadline on social media.
